SEEKING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR
COUNCIL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF FRENCH IN LOUISIANA

The Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL) located in the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, aims to preserve, promote, and develop Louisiana’s French, Acadian, and Creole culture, heritage, and language.  The Council seeks a dynamic leader to serve as Executive Director of this premier French language and culture organization.  Qualifications of the Executive Director include:

1) effective communication skills in French and English;

2) experience working with federal, state, and local governments;

3) demonstrated creativity and initiative;

4) ability to articulate a vision;

5) aptitude for overseeing activities designed to promote the state’s francophone culture, heritage, and language nationally and abroad;

6) capability to promote, develop, and oversee cultural, touristic, and educational relations between Louisiana and other Francophone regions;

7) facility in promoting French language and culture education; and

8) experience with public relations, new  communication technologies, and staff supervision.

The CODOFIL office is located in Lafayette, Louisiana, with a satellite office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
